Dubstep not only has reggae roots but over time due to the underground rave scene, it has even taken elements from different alternative subcultures stemming from the industrial, rock, and different genres of metal. The elements from which these genres derive from are the Emo, Gothic, and Scene Kid subcultures of young adults one would find at an underground rave. These alternative subcultures are largely responsible for providing the artists in the rave scene and for bringing massive amounts of popularity to Dubstep, which in return due to Dubstep brought exposure to the rest of the Electronic Dance Music Scene umbrella. There are music festivals such as the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas that generate around $143.3 Million. The overall market value size of the EDM industry sat at 8.23 Billion in 2021 and is projected to grow at $12.975 Billion in 2027. With unity, many things can be accomplished!

A lot of the rhythms and feels of hip-hop were taken as well. Even Excision states that he used a lot of influences from hip-hop.

Hip Hop

There's a full circle between Hip-Hop, Rock, and overall EDM. There's even influence that scene kids have had on Rap and Hip-Hop such as XXXTentacion and A$AP Rocky who has mentioned EDM and has put parts of EDM in his songs.
